Wells is to the forefront yet again; this time it’s of a major initiative to look across the country at the impact on historic towns.

Wells Civic Society members and city councillors learned more today about the draft of the Wells Neighbourhood Plan.

In September 2022 the WCS hosted a lunch at The Swan to celebrate its 70th anniversary; the special guest speaker was Annie Maw

Led by Philip Welch, a number of members enjoyed a guided walk around some of the plaques installed in the City.

Wells Civic Society Members had a great day out visiting the notorious local prison in Shepton Mallet.

As part of the Community Day celebrations in July 2021, the history of the Bloody Assizes, was played out in the location.
