Further to my blog last month, Gladman’s opportunistic application to fill the Green Gap between Wells and Haybridge with 90 dwellings was lodged with Mendip on the 3rd of this month under reference 2020/0484. The application will be discussed by St Cuthbert Out Parish Planning Committee on the 1st of April at 7 pm in Wookey Hole Community Hall.
Gladman’s application joins another application in the waiting room at Mendip. This is the application under reference 2019/2883 for up to 148 dwellings west of Underwood Quarry Industrial Estate and immediately to the south of the AONB boundary. This latter application has been on Mendip’s books since the 2nd of December last year and so the applicants could lodge an appeal on the basis of non-determination.
Finally some good news – and this relates to the proposed phone mast at Tor Furlong! On the last day possible, Mendip informed Vodaphone that prior approval was required and refused the application. The grounds were inappropriate siting next to rights of way and failure to properly research the possibility of siting the antenna on an existing structure.
